The project will encourage more women to consider construction as a positive career choice by increasing employment of social housing tenants and those from the local community.
This employment will be created in the social housing or building maintenance sector.
- Provide ambassador training for 40 female social housing employees
- Deliver 24 half-day taster workshops for female tenants and local community
- Develop a toolkit to be used in schools to promote female employment
- Develop employer guidance notes
- Develop a pool of employers who are willing to offer support and/or employment
- Develop guidance for new female entrants.

End of project summary
The finished in December 2017. Outreach activity reached 7,354 attendees from schools, community groups, partners and local authorities via workshops, careers events and conferences. The project has produced a research report, a suite of online toolkits for schools and a range of publications; provided practical taster days for women, and created an ambassador network.
