An event to help local construction businesses thrive

An interactive, employer-designed construction roadshow is coming to Llanelli next week (November 5)

Hosted by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the roadshow offers businesses a chance to network with peers and discuss opportunities for their communities.

CITB’s Llanelli Employer Roadshow will include:

  • A discussion on how to attract more people in to construction
  • Inspiring stories of how local employers have benefitted from CITB funding
  • “Decarbonising every home in Wales - scale and skills’, a presentation by Kevin Hammett, Senior Housing Decarbonisation Officer, Welsh Government.

Commenting on the Roadshow, CITB Partnerships Manager Donna Griffiths said: “This is a great opportunity for construction employers to network and gain skills and training advice from those in the know.

“At the Roadshow employers can find out about new business opportunities that will benefit the community and how to make the most of grants and funding. I hope employers will come along and get to know the CITB team. This is an event to help local construction businesses thrive.”

The event will feature market place stands from a range of organisations including: Sell2Wales, Federation of Master Builders, Carmarthenshire Construction Training Association Ltd (CCTAL).

Feedback from the first employer roadshow in Deganwy was very positive.

The North Wales Regional Skills Partnership tweeted: “What a great employer event held by @CITB_Wales this morning, discussing future skills needs, perception of the sector and apprenticeship programme.”

Nick Evans of EvaBuild wrote: “Really pleased for @EvaBuild to attend this and show support. #CITB are doing some great things in the construction industry, so it’s vital that contractors support them, in order that they can support you.”

The Employer Roadshow takes place at Parc y Scarlets, Parc Pemberton, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, SA14 9UZ from 8.30am – 12.30pm on Tuesday November 5. Registration is free. For more please contact Donna Griffiths:
