Why you should take part in the CITB Levy consultation

The CITB Levy has been a cornerstone of the British construction industry for 60 years, ensuring that workers have the necessary skills to keep sites safe and projects successful.

As we look toward the critical years ahead, your input is essential. We invite you to share your opinions on the draft Levy

The challenge is clear. Our latest industry forecast indicates that 250,000 additional construction workers will be needed in the UK over the next five years to meet demand.

Construction work accounts for 6.2% of Great Britain’s economy and is expected to grow further, with home-building and infrastructure projects high on the Government’s agenda. Ensuring the industry has the right skills has never been more crucial.

To address these needs, we have robust plans for investing the CITB Levy, including:

• Enhancing the quality and capability of a network of Training Providers, which will be central to CITB training support.
• Investing £868 million in construction skills over the lifetime of the 2026-2029 Levy Order. 
• Expanding the New Entrant Support Team to build a strong pipeline of talent into construction.
• Empowering businesses by expanding our new Employer Network.

The Levy makes changes like these possible. With a rapidly changing workforce demographic, our goal is to secure the future of construction by tackling immediate challenges and preparing for long-term growth. Together, we can help the industry meet its upcoming demands and ensure its continued success.
