This one-day course teaches Company Directors the human, economic and financial implications of not following health and safety legislations.
It offers guidance as to how to promote a positive health and safety culture within an organisation.
You will get a CITB National Construction College Certificate on completing the course.
Course content
The course includes:
- Leadership and worker engagement
- Health and safety law
- Risk assessments
- Policy development
- Monitoring and reviewing H&S performance
- Action plans
- Plan, Do, Check, Act.
Teaching and assessment
Group exercises and discussions
Learners will prepare an action plan for their workplace, including a health and safety checklist

You will also gain an understanding of the following:
- Moral, economic and legal costs/implications of boardroom decisions
- Strategic management of risks
- Consequences of failing to manage health and safety effectively
- The importance of competent duty holders cooperating, communicating and coordinating health and safety
