A 10-day CISRS course on safe erection, alteration, and dismantling of complex scaffolding structures, as part of a team.
You must hold a CISRS Basic Scaffolder (blue) Card.
Passing the course will get you your CISRS Scaffolding Advanced Certificate.
Course content
- Cantilever drop, two-way shore, dead shore, staircase, ramp, tubular drop, and temporary roof scaffolds
- Regulations governing the safe erection, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolds, and work methods
- Procedures for producing, interpreting, and using risk assessments and method statements
- Scale rules and scale drawings
- Materials for cantilever drop, two-way shore, dead shore, staircase, ramp, tubular drop and temporary roof scaffolds
- Laying out materials, interpreting design drawings, and setting out scaffolds
- Regulations TG20 and BS EN12811-1, and Safe Systems of Work as set out in the Safety Guidance Note 4 (SG4)
- Practical setting of anchors and tie testing
- NVQ/SVQ portfolio building.

What you get
Entry requirements
- CISRS Scaffolder (blue) Card held for at least 1 year while gaining site experience
- Ability to climb up and down ladders safely
- Ability to handle scaffold boards and steel scaffold poles
- Good spoken and written English
- Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.

Get your gold card
To get your gold card, you should now:
- Send your NVQ/SVQ Level 3 portfolio (site diary) in for assessment
- Get a further 6 months' experience on site
- Pass the CISRS Level 3 Skills Assessment (2 days).
